What is Rehabilitation?

Rehabilitation is a program that helps a person who is recovering from illness or injury to regain as much function as possible. The aim is for clients to become as independent as possible despite his/her disabilities. Rehabilitation also aims to teach strategies for ongoing disabilities.

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy meets the needs of patients who have a loss of function or independence due to an illness or injury. Residents are helped to regain functional abilities such as walking, improving strength, balance and endurance and recovery from painful injuries.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy helps residents return to their optimal level of independence in activities of daily living. Functional skills are taught such as self-feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and homemaking.

What is Speech Therapy?
The Speech Language Pathologist treats residents with speech, language, swallowing, and hearing impairments. The resident’s ability to communicate and swallow are two functional skills that may improve with speech therapy.
